At Elcon, we offer electro and electroless plating services in compliance with stringent ASTM, AMS, as well as Mil-Spec standards. The 0.5% nickel boron and 8% nickel phosphorous types of electroless plating are our specialty. We can plate parts as long as 12" and as high as 18" in our large capacity barrel / rack tanks.

Nickel, gold, silver, and copper electrolytic plating with thickness of up to 500 µin can be provided. Copper, molybdenum, tungsten, steel, or other types of material substrates can be selective plated. Metallized ceramics can be plated as well.

To ensure that parts are free from dirt or other surface contaminants, we perform different pre-plating operations, including abrasive blasting, caustic and acid cleaning, spray washing, and ultrasonic cleaning. Plated parts are also visually inspected and tested for plating adhesion, coating thickness, corrosion resistance, hardness, and porosity.

We have extensive experience in plating for the defense, energy, biomedical, semiconductor, and optical industry. A variety of aerospace components, optical encoders, and microwave transmitting tubes have been plated by Elcon in the past. Our plating solutions offer excellent solderability, bondability, conductivity, and corrosion protection.
