Special Process – Selective Plating

Plating is a surface covering in which a metal is deposited on a conductive surface.  Some of the benefits are corrosion inhibition, reduced friction, altered conductivity, radiation shielding, hardening and improved solderability and wearability.

There are occasions when different locations on the same part require several types of plating.   Elcon Precision LLC has the ability to mask 2 dimensional sheets and 3 dimensional parts with a protective coating to prevent plating on the masked areas.  This allows the customer to have multiple plating finishes in different locations. This is also known as selective plating.
