Nitinol

Elcon Precision is an industry leader in manufacturing parts from the Nickel-Titanium alloy called Nitinol.  Nitinol is most known for its two unique qualities: shape memory effect (SME) and superelasticity (SE, or pseudoelasticity).  Shape memory allows nitinol to be deformed when cold and then reheated to return to its original shape. Superelasticity is the ability to stretch when subjected to significant strain without losing tension.  These qualities make this alloy an ideal option for a variety of applications.

At Elcon, we understand that Nitinol fulfills an integral role in many industries.  We have manufactured parts used in cockpit canopy release systems, breast tumor detection and location devices, stents, and other devices.  At our facility, we have the capability of producing Nitinol parts from thin sheets that range in size from 0.004 to 0.040 inches in thickness and up to 8X8 inch panels.
